My wartime childhood was spent in garden and field at the edge of the Kentish suburban countryside with my twin sister; always drawing, reading and playing made-up games.

My aim in painting is to re-create plainly and beautifully the objects and atmosphere of the world around me on a flat surface to hang on a wall.
